چکیده

The last decade has seen the development of standards for music notation (MusicXML), audio analysis (SDIF), and sound control (OSC), but there are no widespread standards, nor structured approaches, for handling musicrelated movement, action and gesture data. This panel will address the needs for such formats and standards in the computer music community, and discuss possible directions for future development.

A Summary of Formats for Streaming and Storing Music-Related Movement and Gesture data

This paper summarises a panel discussion at the 2007 International Computer Music Conference on movement and gesture data formats, presents some of the formats currently in development in the computer music community, and outlines some of the challenges involved in future development.

STSM Report - GDIF Development at McGill

The aim of the STSM was to continue development of the Gesture Description Interchange Format (GDIF). GDIF was suggested in [Jensenius et al., 2006] as a tool for standardising the way we describe, stream and store music-related movement data. This initiative grew out of the need to share data between some of the partners in the ConGAS project. Since most of our equipment use different standard...

Design and Test of the Real-time Text mining dashboard for Twitter

One of today's major research trends in the field of information systems is the discovery of implicit knowledge hidden in dataset that is currently being produced at high speed, large volumes and with a wide variety of formats. Data with such features is called big data. Extracting, processing, and visualizing the huge amount of data, today has become one of the concerns of data science scholar...

Hand Gesture Recognition from RGB-D Data using 2D and 3D Convolutional Neural Networks: a comparative study

Despite considerable enhances in recognizing hand gestures from still images, there are still many challenges in the classification of hand gestures in videos. The latter comes with more challenges, including higher computational complexity and arduous task of representing temporal features. Hand movement dynamics, represented by temporal features, have to be extracted by analyzing the total fr...

Towards a Gesture Description Interchange Format

This paper presents our need for a Gesture Description Interchange Format (GDIF) for storing, retrieving and sharing information about music-related gestures. Ideally, it should be possible to store all sorts of data from various commercial and custom made controllers, motion capture and computer vision systems, as well as results from different types of gesture analysis, in a coherent and cons...
